We've booked a lot of weddings up at the
Semiahmoo Resort this year. Although a two hour drive from Seattle, the scenery and excellent staff make the trip always worthwhile. A fantastic couple from Surrey, B.C. tied the knot on one of the first truly amazing days of the year - and on a Thursday! The lawn behind the hotel lobby provides a stunning view of Drayton Harbor, the Blaine border crossing, and the southern tip of British Columbia from a pristine beach. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for the lovely couple and their friends and family who travelled from all over the world for the celebration.
The reception moved from the post-ceremony outdoor cocktail hour to the main tent for dinner and dancing. After a stellar meal, as par the course at Semiahmoo, an ice cream station added to the dessert array of various cakes. A fun photo booth was set up for quick costume and chalkboard-quote snapshots. Soon enough, high energy dancing erupted on the dance floor as DJ Sean was hitting all the right notes. Later fireworks were blasted off the deck onto the water separating the US and Canada. Everyone was literally having a blast!
